Port Stephens Pictorial

This Port Stephens Pictorial shows photos taken during our stay at Soldiers Point Marina, Port Stephens.  These were taken with a Samsung Galaxy S10+ phone. Having recently had access to Adobe Photoshop, I cropped &/or compressed most photos using that app. You’ll see I was also playing around with the ‘vignette effect’ to darken the corners of the frame. Like all new ‘toys’ I played around for a while!

If you want to read about our passage to Port Stephens, take a look at my blog Newcastle to Port Stephens.

In the Port Stephens Pictorial I’ve decided to group the photos under some headings.

Soldiers Point Marina and artwork

There are a number of sculptures around the marina, with some interesting information that you can read

Sunrise and sunsets

We’ve been treated to some amazing colours at sunset while staying here. Sunrise on the day I saw it (!) was also pretty spectacular. To note, the only editing here was to remove some of the image on one photo and crop some of them. Colours are as I captured with my phone camera.

Photos around Soldiers Point

These were taken on what felt like a “‘summers’ day”‘. We walked around Soldiers Point to Kangaroo Point then to Soldiers Point Jetty.

Pelicans

I love pelicans. I could have filled the entire blog with photos of them.

Fingal Bay and Boat Harbour
Birubi Beach and Gan Gan Lookout

Our friends Sonja (who I worked with previously) and Gerry very kindly took us to Birubi Beach for coffee and Gan Gan Lookout.

Little Beach Reserve and Nelson Bay Lighthouse Reserve

These photos taken on 15 July when weather was still very windy with high swells.

Other photos around Solders Point and Salamander Bay

  1. With such beautiful photos Pam, it’s hard to believe the bad weather we have had for the past week. There have been some really beautiful sunsets x
